Ta Cho Tyler is the Head Volleyball Coach at Prairie View A&M.

Entering her eighth season as head coach and her 15th year at her alma mater, Prairie View A&M Hall of Famer TaCho Tyler continues to lead the Lady Panthers as one of the top contenders in Southwestern Athletic Conference Volleyball.

Tyler has players on All-Conference team after her first two seasons as an head coach. In the fall of 2021 Hope was the only player named to the SWAC All-Conference Team. Hope an all-conference second team member has been a staple of the Prairie View A&M volleyball program over the last three seasons. She led the Lady Panthers with 558 assists and ranks fifth in the conference in assist per set with 5.17. Hope has tallied a career of 1,353 assist over a three year period. She is also second on the team in aces with 22.

Without a fall 2020 campaign the Lady Panthers had to move their season to a busy spring semester. The team had one of their better seasons with a 12-3 (.800) overall record and was 11-1 in conference play. The Lady Panthers had a quartet of volleyball standouts being named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference's Spring 2021 all-conference teams.

Seniors Victoria Pearson earned first-team consideration at middle blocker while outside hitter Tamaira Armstrong received second-team. Teammates Jakarta Hope and Skyla Childs also received second-team nods at setter and libero, respectively.

The 2019 campaign was a breakthrough season for Tyler and the Lady Panthers, as the team more than doubled their 2018 win total and advanced to the finals of the SWAC Volleyball Tournament for the first time since 2006. The team ranked near the top of the league in several categories and had three all-SWAC honorees in CeTara Carter, Victoria Pearson and Tamaira Armstrong.

The 2018 season saw Prairie View A&M's Christen Augustine win Libero of the Year for the second-straight year on her way to a first-team slot on the All-SWAC team.

In 2017, the Lady Panthers made a magical run to the semifinals, knocking off No. 2 seed Alabama A&M. Augustine earned Libero of the Year honors and was first-team Libero for the all-conference team.

The Lady Panthers won 10 matches in 2016, including a .500 record in conference play, highlighted by a sweep of then-defending SWAC Champion Jackson State.

In Tyler's first season, the Lady Panthers posted a .500 record in conference play and finished the regular season strong, winning five of the final eight matches, highlighted by a four-game winning streak.

Prior to becoming head coach, Tyler was an assistant coach for seven seasons under SWAC and PVAMU Hall of Famer Alicia Pete. The program won three consecutive Southwestern Athletic Conference Western Division Championships from 2009-2011. A total of 21 student-athletes have earned All-SWAC Honors under Tyler's watch in addition to numerous players receiving academic honors.

Tyler began her collegiate career at San Jacinto College in nearby Pasadena, Texas and was named to the NJCAA Region XIV All-Tournament Team in 2004 before transferring to Prairie View A&M. She made an immediate impact on the court at PVAMU during her first season as she helped lead the Lady Panthers to the 2006 SWAC Tournament Championship. Tyler earned numerous awards which included SWAC Tournament MVP, SWAC Newcomer of the Year, Second Team All-SWAC and a No. 16 NCAA national ranking in service aces. Tyler and her 2006 SWAC Champion teammates were inducted into the PVAMU Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.

She completed her career in 2007 and was second on the team in hitting percentage, kills and digs per game. Tyler's career accolades were further recognized by her alma mater in 2015, when she was inducted into the Prairie View A&M Sports Hall of Fame.

To add to Tyler's many accomplishments and accolades she was a 2022 NCAA Women Coaches Academy Class #51 graduate. The NCAA Women Coaches Academy, hosted in partnership between WeCOACH and the NCAA, which is a multi-day growth and development program available to NCAA coaches of all experience levels, designed for women coaches who are ready to increase their individual effectiveness by learning advanced skills and strategies that directly affects their personal and team success.

Tyler has a son, Cory Tyston Cloud.
