Connor Martin

Connor Martin is the Assistant Volleyball Coach Holy Cross.

Connor Martin enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Holy Cross volleyball team in 2023.

Martin comes from Smith College in Northampton, Mass. spending two seasons (2021, 2022) as a graduate assistant. In 2021, he was a crucial part of the most successful season since 2013 helping guide the Pioneers to a 21-11 record and a NEWMAC Tournament appearance. During the 2022 campaign, the team went 21-11 and advanced to the NEWMAC Semifinals for the first time since 2005. A great recruiter and relationship builder, Martin had a hand in the six student-athlete recruiting class for 2023.

As a Pioneer, Martin assisted the head coach in assessing players and developing strategic plans for athlete and team improvement. Martin also managed multiple recruiting databases, collaborated with the business manager to construct the operation budget, tracked player performance through VolleyMetrics and VolleyStation, compiled scouting reports and engaged with alumni during giving day.

Before Smith, Martin was a student assistant coach at the University of Mary Washington from August 2018 to November 2020. He was promoted from student assistant coach to director of volleyball operations in his final semester with the program.

A native of Douglas, Mass, Martin graduated from the University of Mary Washington in December 2020 with a bachelor of arts in historic preservation and minor in sports management. He is expected to receive a master of science in exercise and sport science in May 2023.
