Mallery was named the University of Redlands Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving coach in August 2023. He joins the Bulldogs from the University of Jamestown in North Dakota where he served as the Head Women's Swimming Coach.
During his first season in 2023-24 he led the men's team to a 7th place finish at the SCIAC Championships while the women took 8th. Six new top-10 times on the men's side were set.
He also has head coaching experience at Seattle University which spanned from 1996-2011. There he led the Redhawks from NAIA through NCAA Division III, II, and I from 2003-11. He was the NAIA National Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2000 and won the 2002 NAIA Men's Swimming & Diving National Championship.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Mallery was the heach coach of clubs in Taos, New Mexico and Tacoma, Washington.
