Dalton Maples
Camp Director
Dalton Maples is a NIKE Sports Camp Director.
Coach Maples is a middle school teacher, multi-sport coach, and summer camp director. He brings over seven years of coaching experience and a strong passion for helping young athletes grow in both skill and character.
Coach Maples has helped coach middle school football for seven seasons, basketball for two, and has served as head track and field coach for six. His teams have earned three league championships, and he has coached numerous league champions and record-setters in track and field.
In addition to his school-year coaching roles, Coach Maples has 5 years of summer camp and training experience. He has worked with The Barstow School’s summer programs, leading a variety of multi-sport camps designed to develop fundamental athletic skills and teamwork in young athletes. At his current school in Spring Hill, he also directs the weights and conditioning program for middle school students, focusing on proper technique, injury prevention, and building strength and confidence.
As a former three-sport athlete in high school, competing in baseball, football, and track, Maples understands the value of developing well-rounded athletes. His coaching philosophy centers on energy, enthusiasm, and relationships—believing in Jim Harbaugh’s quote that “attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.”
For Coach Maples, sports provide more than competition—they are an opportunity to build confidence, teamwork, and strong character. He is dedicated to creating a positive, high-energy environment where athletes can work hard, have fun, and learn life lessons through the power of sports.
Dalton lives in Olathe, KS with his wife and son.
