David Adams - Director

Dave Adams (MN State, Mankato '04) enters his first year on the Augsburg University football coaching staff in 2025, serving as special teams coordinator and safeties coach.

Previous Coaching Experience:

Adams has coached high school and collegiate football for over twenty years. He most recently served as an offensive assistant at St. Olaf College for two years, working with wide receivers and as a senior offensive assistant. During his time at St. Olaf, the 2024 team produced the best record (7-3) in 12 years. Both years saw proficient offensive attacks, with the second-ranked MIAC offense in 2023 and the third in 2024.

Adams's coaching history includes two NJCAA national championships, four collegiate conference championships, and high school section and conference championships. He coached the NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year while at Rochester Community and Technical College in defensive tackle Dustin Loomen, who holds school records (2 years) for career sacks (27), tackles for loss (64), and safeties (3.5). Adams's experience spans the NCAA, NJCAA, high school, and semi-pro levels as head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, and position coach roles.

Personal/Family Notes:

Adams is a retired Minnesota Army National Guard officer who teaches business education at Roseville Area High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from MSU Mankato in 2004 and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Augsburg University in 2020.
