David Nolan

Head Women's Soccer Coach & Camp Director

David Nolan - Head Women's Soccer Coach & Camp Director

David Nolan is one of the most accomplished and respected coaches in Southern California college soccer, bringing championship‑level experience, elite player development expertise, and a proven record of competitive success to every training environment he leads. As the head coach of the Claremont‑Mudd‑Scripps (CMS) Women’s Soccer program, Nolan has quickly become a driving force in the SCIAC, guiding CMS to titles, NCAA Tournament appearances, and some of the strongest seasons in program history.

Now entering his fifth season in 2026, Nolan is coming off a remarkable 2024 campaign in which he led the Athenas to a 13‑4‑3 record, a SCIAC Tournament Championship, and the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019. Under his leadership, CMS secured clutch postseason wins over defending national champion Cal Lutheran and regular‑season champion Pomona‑Pitzer, capturing its first conference tournament title since 2016.

Nolan made an immediate impact from the moment he arrived. In his debut season in 2022, he returned CMS to the SCIAC Tournament for the first time since 2016 and guided the Athenas to the championship match. He followed that with another strong season in 2023, finishing third in the conference with a young roster and establishing CMS as one of the rising programs in the region.

Before taking charge at CMS, Nolan spent seven highly successful years with the Pomona‑Pitzer women’s soccer program, where he served as associate head coach and head recruiter. During his tenure, the Sagehens won three SCIAC titles, earned four NCAA Tournament appearances, reached the Elite Eight in 2016, and battled into the Final Four in 2019. He was part of the SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2016, 2018, and 2019—cementing his reputation as one of the top soccer minds in the conference.

Nolan’s coaching journey also includes two years as the head coach at William Jessup University, where he engineered a dramatic program turnaround. After inheriting a struggling team, he brought in an 18‑player recruiting class that propelled William Jessup to a 9‑5‑3 season, an 11‑game unbeaten streak, and the program’s first‑ever postseason berth.

Beyond the college game, Nolan has spent years shaping youth players across Southern California through roles with San Juan Hills High School, San Clemente Surf Soccer Club, and the U.S. Soccer Youth Training Center, making him uniquely skilled at connecting with and developing young athletes.

Originally from Dundalk, Ireland, Nolan played four years of collegiate soccer at California Baptist University and La Sierra University, where he served as a team captain and earned both the Golden Eagle Award and Sportsmanship Award. He holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from La Sierra and a master's in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine.

With championship pedigree, deep recruiting expertise, and a passion for developing young players, Coach Nolan brings an energizing, inspiring presence to Nike Soccer Camps, creating an environment where athletes can learn, grow, and reach new levels of confidence and skill.
