Dawson Wehunt

Dawson Wehunt is currently the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Rome High School. Coach Wehunt just completed his first year as head coach, serving as the assistant coach for 3 years prior.
Before entering the coaching profession, Wehunt enjoyed a playing career that consisted of winning a State Championship at Buford High School in 2017, as well as Conference Championships in 2018 and 2021 at Berry College. While at Berry, Wehunt completed his bachelors degree in Middle Grades Education in 2021 and his masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2022. This past year, Wehunt also completed his specialist degree in Instructional Technology.
Throughout the last 7 summers, Wehunt has worked with Nike Basketball Camps at their Mount Berry Camp hosted at Berry College, assisting the Camp Directors with all camp related events. Wehunt worked exclusively with the younger age groups, running and managing the gyms / dormitories for campers ages 10 - 12.
