Diego Torres

Assistant Coach

Diego Torres - Assistant Coach

Diego Torres is in his second season with the Jacksonville University women’s basketball program, where he serves as an assistant coach. A rising leader in player development, Torres has played a pivotal role in the growth of several standout student-athletes, including Edyn Battle (First Team All-ASUN, Top 15 nationally in scoring), Sanyiah Craig (Top 10 nationally in rebounds per game, single-season school record holder), and Priscilla Williams (quadrupled scoring average, Top 5 in blocks).

Prior to his promotion, Torres served as a Graduate Assistant during the 2023–24 season. In that role, he supported all aspects of the program—including practice planning, film breakdowns, scouting reports, and individual player development—while also conducting detailed film studies and performance evaluations.

A native of Oregon, Torres previously worked with the University of Oregon women’s basketball program as a male practice player, training alongside elite collegiate athletes such as Sabrina Ionescu, Satou Sabally, Te-Hina Paopao, Jaz Shelley, and Ruthy Hebard. He also worked within the Oregon Athletic Department, gaining valuable experience in marketing, event operations, and fan engagement.

Torres earned his Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, with a minor in Sports Business, from the University of Oregon. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Organizational Leadership at Jacksonville University.
