With over 7 years of coaching experience in the Monterey Bay area, Duban Trujillo has earned a reputation as a dedicated and knowledgeable coach committed to developing young soccer talent.
Over the past three years at Stevenson School, he has served as both a middle and high school soccer coach and Director of the School’s Soccer Summer Camp.
As Assistant Coach in 2023, he played a pivotal role in leading the team to a League Championship, CCS Championship, and NorCal Finalist finish.
Currently, Coach Duban is the Head Coach for the Carmel High School JV Boys Soccer team, where he continues to have a significant impact on the region’s soccer community.
Beyond his work at Stevenson School and Carmel High School, Coach Duban is deeply involved with various local soccer organizations. He passionately shares his love for the game and helps support the growth and development of soccer in the Monterey Bay area. His efforts inspire young players and contribute to fostering a strong, connected community.
His passion for soccer also extends beyond Monterey County to Santa Cruz, where he coaches with Santa Cruz United FC (formerly known as Santa Cruz Breakers), leaving a lasting impact on the local soccer scene.
In addition to his coaching career, Coach Duban is the Founder & CEO of Octobots Football Academy, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing youth soccer development programs throughout Monterey Bay.
A former player, Coach Duban competed at the highest amateur and collegiate levels in Colombia, playing for clubs and universities and facing off against professional players, including members of the Colombian National Team. He played for the University of Antioquia, where he was part of the team that won the National Championship (ASCUN) in 2015, and local championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Coach Duban’s dedication to the sport also includes his time as a professional Futsal referee from 2011 to 2018.
His ongoing passion for soccer and commitment to learning continuously drives him to improve and offer the best coaching experience for his players.
