Elizabeth Morrison

Elizabeth morrison hartford womens lacrosse

Elizabeth Morrison was named the University of Hartford Head Women's Lacrosse coach ahead of the 2024 season after spending the previous two seasons as Hartford's assistant coach.

In her capacity as an assistant coach in the 2023 season, Morrison played a pivotal role in helping the Hawks break eleven single-season records, leading to the program's most successful season in its history. In addition to her head coaching duties, Morrison will formally begin to coordinate recruiting efforts for our future field hockey program.

Morrison comes to Hartford by way of Trinity College, where she was an assistant coach for both the women's lacrosse and field hockey teams for three seasons, from 2018-21. While working with both teams, she assisted with the day-to-day operations of the programs while helping to develop 11 All-Conference, eight All-Region and four All-American honorees.

In addition to coaching at the collegiate level, Morrison also coaches with her former club team, Nor'Easter Lacrosse, based out of New Haven, Conn. She is also a CrossFit Level 1 trainer at CrossFit Hartford.

Prior to beginning her collegiate coaching career at Trinity, Morrison was a standout two-sport athlete at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), where she played three seasons of field hockey (2015-17) and was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse team (2015-18).

Morrison enjoyed a decorated career on the lacrosse field for TCNJ, graduating as the program's single-season and all-time record holder in ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers. Anchoring the Division's lowest scoring defense each of her four years, she became the first — and only — player in Division III women's lacrosse history to earn four All-American honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

In addition, Morrison was the only player across all three divisions to earn National Defender of the Year honors in non-consecutive years (2016, 2018). She was also the only Division III player to be named to the prestigious Tewarraton Award Watch List in 2018.

A two-time Longstreth/NFHCA Division III South Atlantic All-Region selection and a two-time NJAC All-Conference performer in field hockey in 2016 and 2017, Morrison capped off her career by earning NJAC Attacker of the Year and All-American honors as a senior after pacing the Lions' offense with 41 points on 16 goals and nine assists.

Leading the Lions to 53 wins during her three seasons with the field hockey team, Morrison tallied 102 career points.

As a student-athlete and an assistant coach, Morrison brings an abundance of experience at the Division III level. She led TCNJ to four NCAA Division III Final Four appearances as a player, and worked for a national-level program during her time at Trinity.

Morrison graduated from TCNJ in 2018 with a degree in biology. She went on to earn her Master's degree in public policy from Trinity.
