Erin Egolf is in her sixth season as the head coach of the University of Illinois Springfield women’s soccer program in 2021. She is in her 12th straight year as a member of the program between being a player, assistant coach, and now the head coach.

Egolf enters the 2021 season with a record of 29-47-8, and she is the program’s all-time winningest coach. The Prairie Stars improved their offensive numbers in their first two seasons under Egolf, including tying the school record for goals in 2017. Defensively, the program has also seen some of its top seasons in its history under Egolf, including its top three GAA marks being set in the last four years.

In the shortened 2021 spring season, Egolf helped the Prairie Stars have one of the defenses in program history with a 1.13 GAA. UIS allowed more than one goal in a game just twice in 12 contests.

The Prairie Stars were one of the most improved teams in the GLVC in 2019. Included in that season was a program-record seven GLVC victories.

Egolf’s top season came in 2017 with a record-setting year for the Prairie Stars. UIS went 9-6-4 overall and 6-5-3 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars clinched a spot in the GLVC Tournament for the first time with a 1-0 victory over Rockhurst on the final day of the regular season. UIS finished above .500 overall and in conference play for the first time in program history, and its nine overall victories were also new standards for the team.

In her first season as head coach in 2016, Egolf helped the Prairie Stars improve by two wins in her debut.

Egolf assisted in the development of Maggie Juhlin throughout her career, and Juhlin became the first UIS player to earn first-team all-GLVC honors in 2019. Juhlin was also honored on the second-team all-region squad.

Off the pitch since she was named head coach, the women’s soccer players have also had success in the classroom. Over the last five school years, the women’s soccer team has won 96 GLVC academic all-conference awards. UIS has also earned the GLVC Team Academic All-Conference award in each of her seasons.

Egolf was an assistant coach for the Prairie Stars from 2013-15. In that time, UIS improved its record each year, including winning five overall games and four conference contests in 2015.

Egolf was a star player for UIS from 2010-12. She holds the program’s all-time records with 26 goals and 60 points, and also holds the single-season records in those categories with 10 goals and 23 points. She was a two-time team captain and a three-time all-GLVC selection, earning second-team honors in 2010 and 2012 and third-team accolades in 2011. As a junior, she was also selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region third-team.

Besides her work on the field, Egolf excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-GLVC honors each of her three seasons with the Prairie Stars. She also earned United Soccer Coaches College All-Region Scholar honors as a junior and senior.

Egolf holds her USSF National D License, United Soccer Coaches National Diploma, and earned the United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma.

Egolf graduated in May 2013 from the University of Illinois Springfield with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and graduated in May 2015 from the University of Illinois Springfield with a Master of Business Administration.
