Fred ellis

Fred Ellis played basketball at Baylor University from 2007-2012 and is a member of the winningest senior class in Baylor University Basketball program history, boasting 100 career victories. In his time at Baylor for he went to two NIT Championships and two NCAA Elite 8s. He coached four seasons at Vanguard College Preparatory in Waco, TX.

Played in 13 games, making one start ... Averaged 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 8.8 minutes ... Member of winningest senior class in program history, boasting 100 career victories ... Scored season-high 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench in Nov. 13 win vs. Jackson State ... Dished career-high 5 assists in Nov. 29 win vs. Prairie View A&M ... Chipped in 5 points and 3 assists in 9 minutes in Dec. 19 win vs. Paul Quinn ... Scored 2 points in Feb. 27 Senior Night win against Texas Tech ... He graduated from Baylor with a degree in speech communications and is currently attending graduate school.

2010-11 (JUNIOR)

Moved into larger reserve role as redshirt junior ... Played in 31 games, making three starts and averaging a career-best 16.0 minutes ... Averaged 3.6 points on 40.6 percent shooting and 2.3 rebounds ... Scored 111 points, surpassing career points total after first two seasons ... Made career-first start vs. Grambling State (Nov. 12), scoring career-high 14 points in 17 minutes ... Scored nine points and added three assists in career-high 32 minutes vs. La Salle (Nov. 16) ... Grabbed season-high five rebounds vs. Lipscomb (Nov. 22) ... Scored more points in Big 12 play (24) than in first two seasons combined (14) ... Dished out career-high four assists in 84-67 loss to Oklahoma (March 9) in Big 12 Championship first round ... Graduated Dec. 18 from Baylor with degree in speech communications and then played in Baylor[apos]s 68-64 loss to Gonzaga later that day in Dallas.

2009-10 (SOPHOMORE)
Averaged 6.1 minutes in 29 games as a reserve off bench ... Averaged 1.4 points and 1.6 rebounds ... Scored five points in 12 minutes in 106-45 rout of Hardin-Simmons (Nov. 22) ... Had at least two rebounds in first five games of season ... Chipped in two points and pulled down season-high five rebounds in Dec. 20 win vs. UTA ... Four points in 15 minutes in Feb. 27 win at OU (both figures career bests vs. Big 12 competition) ... Scored season-high six points behind career-high two 3FGM in Big 12 Championship quarterfinal win over Texas (March 11) ... Had four points in 10 minutes off bench in Sweet 16 win over Saint Mary[apos]s (March 26) ... Played two minutes March 28 vs. Duke in Elite Eight.

2008-09 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
Played 26 games as a reserve guard/forward ... Averaged 1.5 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.0 minutes ... Made Baylor debut vs. Paul Quinn, scoring four points and grabbing three rebounds in 19 minutes ... Had two assists and two blocks in 17 minutes in win vs. Centenary ... Scored six points in 16 minutes in rout of Southern ... Recorded career-high 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting in win over Jacksonville Nov. 24 ... Scored eight points with career-high six rebounds in 76 Classic win vs. Providence Nov. 27 ... Played 10 minutes or less in 11 games vs. Big 12 teams ... Did not score in 11 games vs. Big 12 opposition ... Scored two points in NIT win at Virginia Tech - his first points since Dec. 31 vs. Jackson State.

Three-year letterwinner at Sacramento (Calif.) High School under head coach Derek Swafford ... Called the 'biggest sleeper' recruit of summer of 2006 by Scout.com[apos]s Dave Telep ... Third-team all-state selection (Cal-Hi Sports) as senior in 2007 after averaging 17.4 points and eight rebounds ... Led Sacramento to 26-6 record and Metro League title as senior ... Helped SHS to NorCal Division III Tournament semifinals ... Also named to all-state DIII team and All-NorCal second team ... Played in Optimist All-Star game following senior season ... Led Dragons to 29-6 finish as junior in 2006, including 11-1 conference record ... Averaged 7.8 points and 5.1 rebounds as junior ... Sacramento lost in SJS-Division III championship game ... Participated in Super 100 Basketball Camp in Berkeley following junior year ... Earned first letter as sophomore on SHS[apos]s 29-5 Metro League championship team in 2005 ... Member of academic honor roll at SHS ... Also played baseball for the Dragons.
