In his first season at the helm of Menlo Women’s Soccer, Freddy Delgado guided the Oaks to an overall record of 8-5-3, including a 4-2-2 record in conference play and a 5-1-1 record at home. The team qualified for the GSAC Tournament, making it to the semifinal round after defeating Hope International, 2-1, in the quarterfinal.

Delgado came to Menlo after serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Colorado State University, Pueblo. While there, he was tasked with implementing training for the ThunderWolves’ new offense.

After a stellar playing career at Division II Regis University, Delgado began his journey into coaching at his alma mater from 1997-2001, helping guide the women's program to back-to-back Rocky Mountain Conference titles in 1999 and 2000. During that time, Coach Delgado was also a member of the coaching staff for the Colorado Olympic Development Program, and head coach of the Colorado Rush U16 boys club team.

Coach Delgado then moved to Louisiana to serve as assistant coach for Division I University of Louisiana, Monroe from 2001 to 2007. He helped guide the Warhawks to 58 wins in that time, including a program-record 14 in 2004. This earned Coach Delgado his first head coaching role, at Division I University of Arkansas, Little Rock. From 2008-2012 at UALR, Delgado amassed 33 victories, the fourth-most in program history for the Trojans. He led them to their first-ever appearance in the Sun Belt Championship Match in 2009.

Delgado made his most recent head coaching stop at Division I New Mexico State. He guided the Aggies to 24 wins from 2014-2017, making him the winningest coach in NMSU Women's Soccer history. Following his time in New Mexico, Delgado spent one season as an assistant coach at Dixie State, and four years as the director of coaching for Fire FC, overseeing 70 teams and over 900 players.
