Holly Thomas, a veteran on the California club coaching scene, joined the Cal women's gymnastics program as an assistant coach in June 2016.

A three-year letterwinner at UC Davis during her collegiate career, Thomas coached gymnastics since the age of 16 at prominent clubs throughout the Northern California area, including Byers, Pozsar’s and GymStars. She was most recently the team director and head coach of GymStars Gymnastics in Modesto, Calif., a role that she served from 2004-2011.

Thomas was already familiar with the Cal gymnastics brand as she worked as the Bears’ Northern California sales representative for GK Elite Sportswear, an industry leader in leotards and gymnastics apparel, since 2011.

She attended UC Davis as a student-athlete from 1994-97, where she competed on beam and floor in every single meet of her career. She was the first gymnast in program history to score a 9.90 on floor, and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in sociology in 1997. She earned a multiple subject teaching credential from Sac State in 2001, and taught kindergarten from 1999 to 2007.

Thomas and her husband Jamie have a son, Jacob, and daughter, Paige.
