Coach Wood is in his second year as head coach for the D1A Davenport University Men’s Rugby Program. Wood has been on staff with Davenport since the fall of 2010, helping guide the Panthers to back to back USA Rugby D1AA 15s National Championships in 2011 and 2012, as well as a 6th place finish in the 2013/14 USA Rugby 7s National Championships. Wood has been involved with rugby since 2001 and began his coaching career at Rockford High School (Rockford, MI) in 2003 where he helped the Rams to a Division 1 State Championship in 2008. Prior to his coaching career, Wood spent time playing for Rockford High School, Grand Valley State University, the Michigan Collegiate Selects, the Grand Rapids Gazelles RFC, the Michigan Men’s Selects and the Midwest Thunderbirds VII.
