Joe Bright

Coach Bright is the founder and owner of Joe Bright Basketball Training where he works with kids from all over the area to help improve their basketball skills and knowledge. Joe was born and raised in Chicago, IL and moved to Minneapolis, MN, when he was 8 years old where he began his 20+ year basketball career and fell in love with the game.

Joe Bright is a 2009 graduate of Cooper High school in Robbinsdale, MN. Throughout his high school basketball career Joe was a selected to be a part of the Minnesota All-State and All-Conference team, and was additionally a member of the Minnesota State All-Tournament team. During Joe senior year he led Cooper High School to an impressive 27-2 record, and took Cooper high school to the State Tournament in which the team finished third place. Upon graduation, Joe received a full ride scholarship to Toledo University. Joe would eventually in up signing to Howard Community College in Big Spring, TX to explore more college opportunities by improving and enhancing his basketball skills better.

At Howard Community College Joe was captain for both years and played on the 2009-2010 National Championship team. Joe was name Region 5 Defensive player of the year once and Name to the All- WJCAC Team his sophomore year. After graduating with his Associate's Degree, Joe attended Stephen F. Austin where he was a two-year captain and saw action of play in his junior and his senior year. Joe played on the 2013-2014 Conference regular season champions that went 32-3 and participated in the National Invitation Tournaments (NIT) where the Lumberjacks was defeated in the first round by 1 point against The University of Stanford. Joe was hamper with injuries during his two years at Stephon F. Austin but was a great leader and teammate and did whatever was ask of him as a player and student athlete.

After graduating and earning his BA in kinesiology, Joe chose Education as his professional career path. Joe is currently a resident of Big Spring, TX where he works as a Physical Education teacher at Goliad Elementary School. Joe been teaching for 5 years with 3 years teaching 2nd graders and 2 years teaching physical education. His passion continues to be closely connected to basketball, and is now centered around helping children and youth reach their full potential. Joe is also a motivation speaker where he speaks to different youth groups to inspire them to dream big.
