Jorge Ballesteros
Athletics Counselor
Dr. Jorge Ballesteros began working as an athletics counselor at Pepperdine in 2023. Ballesteros supports student-athletes managing complex systems and structures within a pivotal time in their lives.
Ballesteros is in the midst of obtaining his clinical psychology licensure and was formally a postdoctoral fellow within Stanford’s athletic department.
He obtained his Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Arizona State University. He also earned dual master’s degrees from Ball State University in clinical mental health counseling and kinesiology with an emphasis in sport psychology.
Ballesteros has experience in working with Olympic, collegiate, and high school athletes on various issues including confidence, pre-performance anxiety, focus, and leadership. He is bilingual in Spanish and English and is passionate about providing work in either language. Ballesteros strives to create a safe and collaborative space for athletes to reach their goals.
