Julian Krinsky

As the creator of Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs, Julian is passionate about inspiring young people through groundbreaking programming.

Julian Krinsky was born in South Africa and it was there that he developed into an outstanding tennis player. He was ranked ninth in the country in 1969. In that same year, Julian competed in the Monte Carlo Open and at Wimbledon, and represented South Africa in the Maccabiah games where he won a bronze medal in singles tennis and a silver medal in doubles tennis. In the following year, Julian played in the French Open. He won a bronze medal in tennis doubles in the Maccabiah games in 1973.

Julian immigrated to the United States in 1977 and settled in Philadelphia. He played squash in the Maccabiah games in 1981, this time for the United States, and won a silver medal. In 1989 Julian coached the United States Junior Tennis team in the Maccabiah games.

Julian began a small tennis camp program in 1977 with the campers sleeping in tents in his back yard. This has grown into a variety of summer programs that draw over 4,000 young people from over 35 states and 30 countries to nine camp sites. The summer of 2018 will be the first time that the Julian Krinsky Tennis School and Nike Tennis Camps partner up to run camp programs.
