Kate Orefice
Camp Director
Kate Orefice was born and raised in Connecticut and she has been involved in the swimming world since she was young. Kate attended Nike Swim Camps as a camper in Massachusetts. She attended Elms College in Chicopee, MA. from 2005 until 2009, where she swam at the Division III level.
In the summer of 2006, Kate’s coaching career began at the UMass Championship Swim Camp and at Nike Swim Camps across New England. For the next 11 summers, Kate coached at the UMass and Nike Swim Camps until her move to Virginia in 2015. Kate also has three years’ experience coaching for the YMCA and USA swimming associations back in her home state. For the past two swim seasons, Kate has continued her coaching career at the High School level in Stafford, Virginia.
Kate currently resides in Virginia. She has her master’s degree in Special Education and is an Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the public-school system. Kate is the Co-Head Coach of the high school Boys and Girls Swim Team at Stafford High School in Stafford, Virginia. Kate is incredibly excited to continue expanding her swimming knowledge and connecting with a wide-range of athletes as she ventures into the role as Camp Director for the Nike Swim Camps at Johns Hopkins University.
