​Katie McHugh

Katie McHugh is in her second season as the assistant coach for the women's lacrosse program at the Coast Guard Academy.

McHugh comes from Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia where she was a four-year starter for the Lancers. McHugh received Big South Honors each season she played. She is currently the record holder for Longwood’s all-time career points with 267, second in all-time career goals with 195 and fifth in all time assists at Longwood with 72. Her senior season she set the single-season program record with 93 points ranking fourth in the nation and leading the Big South. She was named to the VaSID All-State first team her senior year (2016). McHugh was also a Big South Honor Roll recipient.

Katie has coached at many competitive camps during her summers including the United States Naval Academy, James Madison University, Longwood University and Marymount University. She also coached a competitive club team, SuperNoVA Select Lacrosse located in Northern Virginia during her summer’s home from college.

She was on the student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) where she was a communication link between her team and the committee. She was nominated to be apart of the Lancer Leadership Program where she learned and developed different leadership styles and skills.

Katie was a Communications Major and a Business Administration Minor; she graduated Cum Laude from Longwood University in 2016.
