Keith Byrd

MVP Hoops Club (https://mvphoopsclub.com) + Coach Byrd, looks to elevate your game to the next level through a unique blend of offensive basketball training, competition, defensive intensity drills and developing the necessary knowledge of the game of basketball at Nike Basketball Camps throughout the year. Byrd joined the men’s basketball staff at American University during the summer of 2023 and serves as the Chief of Staff.

For more than 20 years he has served as a basketball coach for players of all ages. He has been successful in coaching players who have been named College All-Americans, All-Academic All-Americans recipients. During the 2018 season Coach Byrd coached the National Junior College Player of the Year, who would later move on and play professionally.

In less than 5 years as a college head coach he successfully won over 100 games, the fastest in the college's history to meet this accomplishment. During his career, he has received several Coach of the Year honors.

· Winning More Than 100 games in less than 5 Years (the fastest in the college's history to meet this accomplishment) comprised a 105-40 overall record.

· Named Men’s Basketball Conference Coach of the Year.

· Selected District Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year.

· Named CKA Men's Basketball Coach of the Year.

· Coached 12 All-Conference Players, 3 Conference Players of the Year, 3 All Americans, 3 All-Academic Americans

Each day campers will focus on a skillset, Shooting, Dribbling, Defense and Teamwork. Additionally, campers will work directly with coaches during team and individual sessions. This basketball camp will also cover in-game situations, current rules and necessary knowledge about the game and its rich history.
