Kenny Trader

Kenny Trader is a former Bowie State University player and the founder of Trader Elite Basketball, LLC which specializes in sports management, basketball camps and clinics for kids, physical training and health/nutrition. Kenny has a very extensive background in the sport of basketball and was a four-year Letterman at BSU and junior-college all-star at Mississippi Delta Community College. His collegiate teams amassed an impressive 72% winning percentage while achieving NCAA tournament bids and conference championships.

Coach Trader has coached in several basketball camps including the University of Maryland’s Gary Williams Basketball Camp for Kids in College Park, MD; the Eastern Invitational Basketball Camp for Kids in Trenton, NJ and others. In 2006, he played professionally in the American Basketball Association for the Mississippi Miracles organization. He took instruction under the tutelage of Head Coach Sam Lacey (former 14 year National Basketball Association (NBA) Veteran/Sacramento Kings All-Star).

In April of 2008, Coach Trader was rewarded with an individual work-out for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. He received an invite to audition for their minor league team, the Los Angeles Defenders. He was released September 2008 but maintains a professional relationship with the Laker organization.

In 2005, Coach Trader formed Trader Elite Basketball, LLC, a limited liability company specializing in sports management, basketball camps and clinics for kids, physical training and health/nutrition. In June 2006, he along with 3 other investors founded Champion Sports Management, Inc. (a sports management company specializing in franchise acquisitions and client representation) and the Big Valley Shockwave (an official franchise member of the American Basketball Association). Coach Trader served as President/Chief Executive Officer and General Manager for each organization, respectively.

Coach Trader holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bowie State University May 2011 and subsequently was accepted into the University of Maryland University College’s Master of Business Administration program.
