Korey Schroeder

Korey Schroeder Uw Platteville

Korey Schroeder is entering his second year as an assistant coach with the UW-Platteville volleyball program after serving as student assistant for the Pioneers from 2012-14.

In his first season as an assistant the Pioneers recording their first season above .500 since 2012. Under Schroeder’s guidance the Pioneers finished fourth in the WIAC in blocks per set and sophomore Katie Jones finished second overall in the WIAC with 1.00 blocks per set.

A 2015 graduate of UW-Platteville, Schroeder earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as a Project Engineer for EMCS in Wausau, Wisconsin for two years. During this time in the Wausau area, Schroeder served as an assistant coach at Newman Catholic High School earning a WIAA state championship title in both 2015 and 2016. He also served as a head coach for two seasons with the Wisconsin Ice VBC. Schroeder coached 13 future NCAA volleyball players between his stints at Newman Catholic and Wisconsin Ice.

During his college career, Schroeder was a member of the UW-Platteville Volleyball Club team for five seasons (2010-15). He was a two-time member of the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NCVF) National Championship All-Tournament Team. He served in a leadership capacity with the club team for four seasons and played under head coach Samantha Birkicht for two years.

Originally from Kaukauna, Wisconsin, Korey returned to coach at his alma mater and now resides in Platteville.
