Coach

Ku'ulei Kabalis-Bianconi - Coach

Former Kansas State Libero

he 2020 season is the second for Ku'ulei Kabalis-Bianconi as an assistant coach for the Chaminade University women's volleyball team.

During the 2019 season, she helped guide the Silverswords to a record of 22-8, marking the first-ever back-to-back 20-win seasons for the program with a third-place finish in the Pacific West Conference for the second straight year at 16-6. The year saw senior outside hitter Emma Tecklenburg wrap up her stellar career second in the all-time kills list with 1,292 while junior right-side hitter Rachel Reedy became just the second AVCA All-America in school history.

Prior to Chaminade, she coached at Division I Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.

Kabalis-Bianconi was also an assistant coach with Hawai'i Pacific University in 2015 and '16, both of which were winning seasons. It included a 17-win campaign in 2016 which saw HPU finish tied for fourth in the Pacific West Conference standings.

Kabalis-Bianconi played her junior and senior years (2011, 12) as a libero at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan. Her 478 digs posted during her junior year ranks 10th in single-season school history. During her season year, she ranked eighth in the Big 12 Conference with 3.13 digs per set while garnering Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors.

Before joining KSU, Kabalis-Bianconi played at Western Nebraska Community College, helping the Cougars to a combined 96-8 mark during her career there from 2009-10. Her last year at WNCC, she helped lead the program to the NJCAA national championship, posting a school-record 34 digs in the 2010 national championship match to earn all-tournament team honors. She also helped Western Nebraska to a third-place national finish in her freshman season.
