Kyle Koncz

Kyle Koncz is currently the Head Boys’ Varsity Basketball Coach at Lake Forest Academy, just outside of Chicago, IL. Kyle just finished his 8th season as Head Coach and is in his second stint at Lake Forest, following his return after beginning his coaching career there as an assistant under Head Coach Matt Vaughn from 2008 to 2011, upon graduating from Princeton University.

During his 8+ years of coaching at LFA, Kyle has had the opportunity to work with over 20+ players who have continued to play basketball at the collegiate level, with some still playing professionally today. Kyle has also been a USA Basketball Academy Clinic Speaker and spent multiple years coaching at Snow Valley Basketball Camp in Iowa. In addition to his role as Head Coach, he also works in the Athletic Department at LFA.

Between his stints at Lake Forest Academy, he spent six seasons coaching at the college level, including one season as an Assistant Coach at Williams College under Head Coach Mike Maker. Following his year at Williams, he spent 5 years as the director of basketball operations at Fairfield University, working under Head Coach Sydney Johnson (current Head Coach of the Washington Mystics), who coached him at Princeton University during his senior year.

At Princeton, Koncz was a 3 year starter for the Tigers. He finished his career with the 5th most 3pt. makes in school history, and still currently resides in the top 10. After his Junior and Senior seasons, Kyle was the recipient of the B.F. Dunn Award, which is presented annually to the team member who, through sportsmanship, play, and influence, most greatly contributed to the sport.
