Coach
Kyle Nisson

Kyle Nisson enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Stags after spending the last four seasons at Quinnipiac University in the same position.
In his four years in Hamden, Conn., Nisson helped the Bobcats to 29 wins in 2015, tying the single season program record. He also coached 11 players who were named to an All-MAAC team and eight student-athletes who were placed on the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-Star team. Included in that group is infielder Matthew Batten, who graduated as the program leader in hits (249) and stolen bases (65), while tying their Division I record with 139 runs scored. After the 2017 season, Batten was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 32nd round.
Nisson coached four years at his alma mater Quinnipiac where he was a three-year starting catcher for the Bobcats and was named to two All-NEC squads. As a senior, he led the nation in the “Toughest to Strikeout” category, by striking out just five times in 171 at-bats (once in every 34.2 at-bats). He also led the team in hits (54), doubles (eight), runs scored (26), and on-base percentage (.377). For his efforts, the team captain was named the squad’s MVP for that season.
