Lynn Joseph "L.J." Dupuy was named the head baseball coach of the Bears in July 2005. He has over 47 years experience coaching, scouting and managing baseball teams. Coach Dupuy's teams have won six league championships in amateur and professional baseball, including titles with the Baton Rouge Blue Marlins and the Baton Rouge River Bats, both Independant Professional baseball teams.

Coach Dupuy begins his twelfth season as the head coach of the Bears baseball program. During his tenure, Coach has seen over 70 players who have advanced to play at 4-year institutions. Coach L.J. lead the Bears to the schools only Miss/Lou Conference Championship in 2011. The Bears have finished as Regional Runner-ups 2 times during his tenure, 2011 and 2013.

Prior to his arrival at BRCC, Dupuy worked for seven seasons in independent professional baseball. He was the third base coach with the Blue Marlins and General Manager with the River Bats. Coach also served as an associate scout with the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees. L.J. was the gereral manager of the Baton Rouge River Bats, an organization that promotes baseball to the youth of the Baton Rouge community.

Coach Dupuy began his coaching career in 1965 as he lead his team to a league championship in the Capital City Semi-Pro League. He coaches American Legion baseball for 27 years before accepting a position in the Prairie League of Professional Baseball. After a brief stint with the Prairie League, L.J. coached professional baseball in a variety of settings, including the Texas/Louisiana League, All-American Association and the Southeastern League.
