Landon Lopez joined the MSU Denver staff in August, 2022. Lopez helped the Roadrunners go 12-17 overall and 9-13 to tie for seventh place in the treacherous Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Previously, Lopez had been at Trinity International (Ill.), where he served as a graduate assistant coach, junior varsity head coach, player development coach, and strength & conditioning coach. Lopez was instrumental in developing NAIA All-American Brandon Lawani, and All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference second team selection Brandon McQueen, as Leon Williams. Both McQueen and Williams signed professional contracts. Lopez also played a crucial role in recruiting, scouting, game-time decisions, and operations.

Lopez earned a bachelor's degree in communications in 2020 from Colorado State. He served as a student manager for the Rams' men's basketball team for two seasons under head coach Niko Medved.

As the varsity assistant and sophomore head coach at Grandview in Aurora, Colo., from 2016 through 2018, he was part of the Colorado Class 5A state championship team in 2018.

Lopez also served as an assistant coach at Eaglecrest High School from 2014-16, helping that team reach the Class 5A semifinals in 2015 and the championship game in 2016.

He also spent three seasons leading the 16U Colorado Miners team.
