Mario Hernandez has been named as the head coach of the Lipscomb Bisons tennis team. It is his first head coaching assignment on the college level in his career. Hernandez, 26, played for Lipscomb
Hernandez, 26, played for Lipscomb University from 2008-2011. He was the captain of the team his senior year.In July 2012 Hernandez was named a graduate assistant coach for the men’s team. The 2012-2013 team finished with its best result ever in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Bisons, the No. 6 seed, reached the semifinals of the conference tournament with a victory over No. 3-seeded Stetson. The Bisons lost to eventual champion ETSU.
