Mark Saladzius - Camp Director

Mark Saladzius is in his seventh full season at the helm of the Roberts Wesleyan University men’s basketball program. Saladzius took over as the interim head coach in October 2018 following the retirement of longtime head coach Rob McCoy. Executive Director of Athletics Bob Segave announced Saladzius as the 16th head coach in the program’s history in February 2019.

Saladzius spent nine years alongside McCoy as the assistant coach before taking over the program. During the 2017-18 season, the Redhawks got off to a 6-0 start under the leadership of Saladzius while coach McCoy took some time away from the team to deal with health issues. The Redhawks went on to make the East Coast Conference Championships that season.

In his first season as head coach, Saladzius and the Redhawks posted a record of 16-14. The team grabbed the fifth seed in the ECC playoffs but fell to Bridgeport in the first round. Roberts then took part in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championships in Winona Lake, Indiana. The Redhawks advanced to the championship game where the team came up short against top-seeded Cedarville University.

The Redhawks have reached the ECC semifinals for the first time in 2020-2021, and have made it there each of the last four seasons as well. Roberts finished with a 9-7 conference record during the 2023-24 regular season and earned the right to host an ECC postseason game for the first time in program history.

Saladzius is a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan where he also was a member of the men’s basketball team. The former team captain scored over 1,000 points and grabbed more than 500 rebounds in his career at Roberts and went on to play professionally over in England.
