Matthew Riley
Co-Director & Wenatchee Bighorns Head Coach

Matthew Riley is the head coach of the Wenatchee Bighorns, a professional basketball team in The Basketball League (TBL). He was hired in August of 2024 to lead the team for the 2025 season.
Background:
- He previously coached the Mississippi Silverbacks of the American Basketball Association (ABA), where he led the team to a divisional championship and earned South Region Coach of the Year honors.
- He was the head coach when the Silverbacks reached the ABA National Championship game in their inaugural season.
Philosophy:
- Riley aims to win both on and off the court, focusing on community engagement as well as competitive play.
- His coaching emphasizes player development.
Prior Experience:
- At 19, Riley became the youngest assistant coach in NJCAA history when East Central Community College hired him.
- He also served as an assistant coach at Southwest Mississippi Community College and at Clinton Christian Academy, where he helped the team win a state championship.
Community Engagement:
- The Bighorns under Riley are involved in a #CommunityFirst campaign that emphasizes making a positive impact on the local community
