Megan Bozek

Co-Director

Megan Bozek - Co-Director

Megan Bozek enters her first year as assistant coach for the UMass Lowell field hockey team in 2016. A four-year standout at New Hampshire, she joins the River Hawks after having served as an assistant coach at Boston College for two seasons.

Bozek’s primary responsibilities at UMass Lowell will be working with the goalkeepers and the defensive corner unit, and recruiting locally.

As a member of the staff at BC, Bozek was charged with organizing game day operations. Other duties included presenting scouting reports, identifying areas for further development of team members, assisting in goalkeeper training, and managing all aspects of video exchange and the team’s social media accounts.

In addition to working at Boston College, Bozek has been the head coach of the USA Futures Northeast Region site in Taunton, Mass. since January of 2015, in addition to being the Cape Ann Field Hockey Club Elite head coach since November of 2014.

Bozek has not only coached at the national level, holding her USA Field Hockey Level II Coaches Certification, but she has also played at the highest level of competition as a member of the USA Women’s National Indoor Team from 2012-14. She participated in the USA Women’s High Performance program from 2011-14, as well, and attended the Junior National Camp in 2013.

A four-year starter in the backfield for the Wildcats, Bozek was a two-time Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Associate (NFHCA) All-American. She was named the America East Championship Most Outstanding Player as a senior in 2013, when she helped lead UNH to the regular-season and tournament titles before advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years. She totaled 29 goals and eight assists for 66 points with 13 defensive saves in her 85 career games as a Wildcat. Off the field, she was also a three-time NFHCA All-Academic Squad selection.

Bozek, a native of Cortlandt Manor, NY., graduated in 2014 with a bachelor’s of science degree in secondary math education from New Hampshire.
