Michael Sopko

Directing camp this summer will be Michael Sopko!
Michael Sopko brings elite Division I playing experience, years of national-level coaching, and a passion for growing the game to his role as Camp Director. A longtime leader within Xcelerate Lacrosse, Michael has been a key part of the organization since 2015, helping develop players and expand the game across the country.
Originally from New York, Michael played Division I lacrosse at Stony Brook University, where he was a key member of a nationally ranked program. As a defensive contributor for the Seawolves, he helped lead the team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including an America East Championship in 2010, a run to the NCAA Quarterfinals, and a Top-10 national ranking.
Known for his versatility and ability to coach players at any position and age level, Michael has built a reputation as a well-rounded, high-impact instructor. His deep understanding of the game, combined with his ability to connect with athletes, allows him to effectively teach both fundamental skills and advanced concepts.
At camp, Michael creates a competitive, high-energy environment focused on skill development, lacrosse IQ, and confidence. His leadership ensures that every camper receives top-level instruction while enjoying a positive and challenging experience that helps them grow as both players and teammates.
