Michael Sopko

Directing camp this summer will be Michael Sopko! Coach Sopko grew up in New York and played Division 1 lacrosse at Stony Brook University where he helped lead the team to multiple NCAA playoff appearances.
Known for his ability to coach any position for any age group, Coach Sopko's experience with the sport of lacrosse allows him to teach some of the best players and coaches in the game today. He's been an Xcelerate staff member since 2015 and has helped grow the game throughout the country.
As a player, Coach Sopko was a regular in the rotation on defense for NCAA D1 Stony Brook University during his four years playing for the Seawolves from 2007-2010. He helped lead Stony Brook to an America East 2010 conference championship, a 2010 Quarter Final NCAA appearance, and a #8 NCAA National Ranking.
Coach Sopko was a 2006 graduate of Shoreham-Wading River High School and was a four-year letter winner in both lacrosse and soccer for the Wildcats and also ran track.
