Lake Forest native Michelle Mendoza has been named the new Concordia University Irvine women's lacrosse head coach.
Mendoza was a standout lacrosse player at Chapman University and graduated in 2015. As a freshman she helped lead her school to an undefeated season that culminated with a WWLL Regional Championship and a WCLA National Championship.
Mendoza was given the First Team All-League Award and named Most Valuable Offensive Player for her impressive contributions during that memorable season.
Mendoza's passion for lacrosse and coaching dates back to her high school days when she played for El Toro High School and was a part of the program's first girls lacrosse team. As a student-athlete at Chapman, she started getting into coaching with the JV squad at El Dorado High School and her alma mater, El Toro.
Recently, Mendoza helped develop players at Victory Select Club and Mater Dei High School as well.
