Mike King
Coach

Mike King is the head coach of the 17u National Team at Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy (OJVA), former DI Head and Asst Coach at Eastern Washington University, and University of Portland.
Coach King brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the sport, with over 25 years of volleyball coaching and teaching at both the high school and collegiate levels. A respected figure in the Portland, Oregon volleyball community, Coach King currently offers private lessons and serves as a technical consultant for local clubs. Most recently, he guided Estacada High School to a historic milestone with its first Tri-Valley Conference title in 15 years and a top-5 OSAA state ranking.
Before transitioning to the high school level, Coach King enjoyed a distinguished NCAA Division I coaching career for 21 years. He served as both Head and Associate Head Coach at Eastern Washington University, where his leadership helped secure two NCAA National Championship appearances. His impact was also felt at the University of Portland, Winthrop University, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he played a pivotal role in revitalizing programs, leading teams to national victories, and mentoring numerous all-conference and all-academic student-athletes.
In addition to his school-based roles, Coach King has spent 25 years deeply involved in elite-level club volleyball. He is the founder of Oregon Juniors Volleyball Club, a program that has earned regional titles and a national championship and has helped more than 100 athletes secure Division I scholarships. His long-term vision and leadership have left a lasting legacy in the development of young athletes.
Coach King is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a veteran member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, and a former board member of the Columbia Empire Volleyball Association. His career reflects a deep and sustained commitment to excellence in volleyball at every level
