Molly Barnes
Assistant Coach
Molly Barnes is in her second season as an assistant coach for the Golden Bears.
Barnes has over 15 years of coaching experience, including 10 at the NCAA Division I level. She served as head coach at Cal State Northridge for eight seasons and also was an assistant at Loyola Marymount for two years. Barnes earned an MBA from LMU as well.
Barnes' brother, Tony, played water polo at Cal from 1990-93 and was named an All-American as a senior. Both of Barnes' parents also attended Cal.
Before coming to Cal, Barnes spent six years coaching at the club and high school level in the Bay Area. Originally from Cupertino, she has lived in Berkeley the past four years.
Barnes was a two-sport athlete at UCLA, playing soccer and water polo. She was a teammate of Cal head coach Coralie Simmons and helped the Bruins win two national championships.
