Quincy's international career began in 2012 when he earned a World U20 Championships Gold Medal in Barcelona, running the leadoff leg for Team USA's 4×400m relay. A two-time Team USA member and two-time Olympic Trials Finalist in the 400m hurdles, he has consistently represented the United States at the highest levels of the sport.
Coaching & Mentorship
Since graduating from LSU with a degree in Sport Administration, Quincy has dedicated himself to developing the next generation of athletes, son of Ernest Downing Jr. Assistant Coach of Cross Country and Track & Field at Benedictine University. Quincy brings championship credibility, and elite expertise, and a genuine passion for athlete development to every Nike Track & Field Camper.
LSU All-American
At LSU, Quincy became one of the most decorated and versatile athletes in program history. A two-time NCAA Champion in the 4×400m relay (indoors 2014, outdoors 2015), he earned nine All-American honors across the 400m flat, 400m hurdles, and relay events a breadth of excellence unmatched in Tiger history. His 2014 NCAA Outdoor bronze medal and 2015 fourth-place finish in the 400m hurdles reflect elite individual growth alongside dominant relay contributions. He leaves LSU ranked No. 5 all-time in the 400m hurdles (49.63) and No. 9 indoors in the 400m flat.
SEC Excellence & Collegiate Dominance
Quincy earned five All-SEC honors and was a consistent top-10 performer across three events in LSU school history. He was a member of seven 4×400m relay teams to crack the program's all-time top-10 rankings. His rare ability to compete at an elite level in the 400m flat, 400m hurdles, and 800m indoors and outdoors earned him recognition as the most versatile NCAA sprinter of his era and a two-time Olympic Trials Finalist.
