Ralph Van Ormer

Ralph Van Ormer, who has more than 20 years of coaching experience at the club level, was named Lafayette's head tennis coach early in 2016 and is entering his eighth full season with the Leopards in 2023-24. Van Ormer currently serves as the tennis professional at the Delaware Valley Tennis Academy in Bryn Mawr, Pa., holding that position since 2014. He has more than a decade of teaching experience in the Lehigh Valley, working as the head pro at Northwood Racquet and Fitness in Easton, Pa., from 2011-14 and as the Director of Tennis at Brookside Country Club in Macungie, Pa., from 2003 to 2011.
Before making his way to the Keystone State, Van Ormer spent nine years working in Virginia as the head professional and regional supervisor at Chantilly International Tennis from 2001-03, the Director of Tennis at the Country Club of Culpeper from 1998-01 and Culpeper Tennis Facility from 1997-98 and tennis pro at Stonebrook Swim and Racquet Club from 1994-97. Stints at New Castle (Pa.) Country Club and Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy (Fla.) started his tennis career.
A tennis letterwinner, Van Ormer is a 1993 graduate of Slippery Rock University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business. The Patton, Pa. native holds United States Professional Tennis Association Elite Certification. He has coached men's and women's teams with experience ranging from the 2.5 to 4.5 levels.
