Directing camp this summer is Ray Willie. Coach Ray was a 14 time All American for the University at Buffalo. He was two time MVP for the University, Freshman of the Year in 1989 and Upper New York State Swimmer of the Year in 1989.

In 2004 he was honored by University at Buffalo by being named in the Athlete Hall of Fame. In 2010 he was named Metropolitan Swimming ASCA Coach of the Year. He holds an undergraduate degree from University at Buffalo and a master’s degree from Stony Brook University both in applied mathematics. He is currently a High School math teacher at East Islip High School.

He began his coaching career in 1992 as assistant coach for Canisius College Men’s and Women’s Division I swimmingprogram. His tenure has included Head Junior Coach Cheektowaga Stingrays, Head Junior Coach Three Village Swim Club, Senior Team Coach TVSC, and Head Coach Hauppauge Swim Club. He is currently the head coach of Smithtown Varsity Swimming. He is the owner Long Island Premiere Swim School and is dedicated to teaching swimming excellence from beginner to Olympian, as well as, working with children with disabilities in the pool.

Coach Ray Willie has coached several Top 16, Zone, Sectional and National qualifiers. He has been published in splash magazine twice for drill techniques on both Breaststroke and competitive dives.
