Reggie Garrett - Coach

Temple director of player personnel Reggie Garrett enters his third season on the Temple coaching staff. Reggie has played an instrumental part in the Temple football team’s success. All 3 years of Reggie’s coaching term with Temple have resulted in proven success.

Since 2016, Temple has made 3 bowl appearances including a bowl Win in 2017. Temple football has also sent several of their players to the NFL with 8 of them being drafted since 2016 which is when Reggie began his coaching career with them. Reggie joined Temple in January 2016, as a graduate assistant working with the defense. He was hired into the full-time role of defensive analyst in shortly after, and quickly promoted one month later to director of player personnel. Reggie earned his masters degree as well while at Temple. Before starting his tenure at Temple, Reggie coached defensive backs for Pace University and University of Rhode Island. At Pace, he worked with the corners and safeties and also served as punt return coordinator and at Rhode Island he was primarily responsible for cornerbacks and safeties.

Before beginning his career as a college football coach, Reggie was a former standout wide receiver for Norfolk State University. Reggie started out as a Quarterback and smoothly made the transition to wide receiver. Reggie was part of the Spartans’ 2011 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship team and was vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He went on to become captain as a senior and finished his career with 73 catches and 815 yards. Reggie was also a standout in high school at Indian River high school. He started at quarterback for two years and led Indian River to the Eastern Region semifinals. Reggie has a proven track record of success as a player and coach and continues to impact player’s lives on and off the field.
