Rob Marcaletti

Rob Marcaletti, SI alumni '96 and former Men's Varsity Head Basketball Coach at St. Ignatius, enters his 20th season running Basketball camps at the youth, highschool and college levels. Coach Marcaletti is also the school's Associate Athletic Director.

Rob has a long history of coaching basketball for many different Bay Area programs for the last 25 years. He has a genuine passion for the sport and for mentoring our youth. Rob has been the Associate Athletic Director at St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco for twelve years and the Director of SI Summer Camps & Basketball Camps for over 18 years. After playing football, baseball and high school basketball at SI, he went on to play lacrosse at St. Mary’s College in Moraga then competed on the Olympic Club Men’s Basketball National Travel Team for seven years.

Rob has coached high school basketball on varying levels for the last twenty-two years with the most recent being the Men’s Varsity Head Coach at St. Ignatius for six years after being the Men’s Assistant Coach for thirteen years. Under his leadership, the team got to the NorCal semifinals in his first year and won a Central Coast Section Title in 2020. Rob and his staff have been fortunate to send 30+ players on to play basketball in college at various D1,D2 and D3 programs around the country. Rob also successfully planned three international trips to Taiwan and Argentina, where his teams were able to play against elite talent from multiple countries, immerse themselves in the local cultures, and gain lifetime memories in the process. Prior to his work at SI, Rob served as a basketball coach in various AAU clubs and at Junipero Serra High School.

Notably, Rob joined the staff as an assistant coach of the Men’s Basketball Team at City College of San Francisco last year while helping the team win a state championship in the 2021-2022 season and compiling a 32-1 record with #1 CA ranking. Rob not only brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the game, but it is his energy and ability to use the game of basketball to teach life skills that has kids from schools throughout the Bay Area returning to his packed skills camps and clinics. When not coaching, watching basketball and/or game film, he is busy raising (and coaching) three daughters with his wife, Elisa. Rob and his team of experienced coaches are excited to work with your son and daughter on improving their basketball skills this summer!
