Rob Shutte serves as the head men's golf coach at Rutgers University. He has over 10 years of collegiate head coaching experience, including two seasons as head women's golf coach at Lehigh University.

"The mission of the Rutgers University Department of Athletics is perfectly in line with my own core values and beliefs," said Shutte on Feb. 14, 2012, the date of his appointment as head coach. "It is a great opportunity for me to pursue a passion of mine, which is developing young men into better players, people and leaders through the game of golf."

The Scarlet Knights have achieved many notable finishes under Shutte's tutelage. In the fall of 2013, RU won both the Lehigh Invitational and the Hartford Hawks Invitational, while junior Jacob Stockl captured individual medalist honors at the Rutgers Invitational. In the Spring of 2103, RU placed 3rd at the 24-team Whiting Turner Towson Invitational. The Fall of 2012 saw Rutgers host the Waterville Collegiate Classic in County Kerry Ireland, which signaled the first time an American University hosted a team event in Ireland. The Scarlet Knights also earned a second place finish at the 2012 Rutgers Invitational.

Prior to his arrival in Lehigh, Shutte served as head men's golf coach at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa. from 2005 to 2009. The Mules had three tournament victories and were runner up on four occasions during his tenure. In addition to a trio of individual tourney titles, Zach Oyer graduated with the lowest career stroke average in over 15 years. His 2006 squad boasted a 3.23 grade point average, highest among men's athletic programs.

Off the course, Shutte has balanced his career by serving as Vice President of Independent Financial Advisors in Easton, Pa. since 2004. He has also hosted two radio shows on the ESPN Radio affiliate in Allentown, The Water Cooler Radio Show and The Caddie Shack Radio Program. In the winter, he has volunteered as assistant varsity boys' basketball at Notre Dame-Green Pond High School.

Shutte, who hails from a Rutgers family, and his wife Caitlin are the proud parents of young sons Charlie (Nov. 1, 2011) and Henry (July 3, 2013). His father, Bob, was a three-year varsity football letterwinner at Rutgers from 1969-71, playing defensive back, wide receiver and kicker. He was also a three-year letterwinner on the baseball diamond, playing third base and shortstop from 1970-72. His mother, Catherine, is a Rutgers graduate and was a student sportswriter with the Daily Targum as an undergrad.
