Ryan Lakin

Ryan Lakin grew up in St Charles, graduated from what is now STCE. After being named captain at East his senior year, Ryan walked on to then powerhouse Illinois State University. Ryan was named captain his senior year at ISU and also earned All MVC and All Regional player awards. While finishing up his degree, Ryan assisted at junior college Lincoln College before moving on and running the Bloomington Normal Soccer Club. From there, he went to Millikin University where he coached both Men and Women's programs for 5 seasons.

Ryan then was called upon to move to the USL professional team Pittsburgh Riverhounds as an assistant coach. He then moved back to the Chicago suburbs to work with FC Barrington and Directed the Barrington Area Soccer Association recreational soccer program. Again, Ryan made a move to get into College coaching and went to Illinois Wesleyan University for 9 years. When Aurora University opened up it allowed for Ryan to get back to his roots in the fox valley and the job was a perfect fit for him and his family. His wife and 2 daughters live in Geneva and he is excited to give back to the grassroots of River City Soccer. Ryan has an educational background and a love and passion for soccer. Teaching youth the game he loves makes sense and is where his heart lies
