Ryan Pratt brings a proven record of coaching excellence, player development, and leadership at every level of the game. He has served as Head Coach of the Houston Christian University men’s soccer program since 2017, building a culture centered on technical quality, competitive mentality, and long‑term player growth.
Ryan Pratt brings a proven record of coaching excellence, player development, and leadership at every level of the game. He has served as Head Coach of the Houston Christian University men’s soccer program since 2017, building a culture centered on technical quality, competitive mentality, and long‑term player growth.
Over more than two decades in the game, Coach Pratt has developed players from youth and academy levels through Division I and II college soccer, helping athletes refine their skills, grow their soccer IQ, and reach new performance milestones. His coaching approach emphasizes strong technical foundations, game understanding, confidence, and decision‑making, principles that translate seamlessly to players of all ages.
Prior to his time at HCU, Pratt was the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Jacksonville University, beginning in 2012, where he led the program to multiple postseason appearances while earning national recognition for academic excellence. Earlier in his career, he coached at VCU, contributing to sustained success and the development of multiple all‑conference and all‑region players. Pratt also spent nine highly successful seasons as Head Coach at the University of Montevallo (Division II), where he became the program’s all‑time winningest coach and led teams to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including a national semifinal run.
In addition to his college résumé, Coach Pratt has extensive experience working with youth and developing players, making him especially effective in creating training environments that are challenging, age‑appropriate, and fun. His ability to connect with young athletes while maintaining professional standards helps campers build confidence, creativity, and a lasting love for the game.
A former collegiate and semi‑professional player, Pratt holds a USSF “B” License and is widely respected for his ability to teach the game with clarity, energy, and purpose.
