Scott Purdy

In his long tenure as Loomis Chaffee's head men's track and field coach, Scott Purdy has lead his team to winning 14 Founders League Championships, including 11 of the last 12. In 2024, two of Purdy's athletes competed in the New Balance Indoor National Championships. In triple jump, senior Orion Browne finished 5th at 48-3.5, earning All-American honors. On the disance side, sophomore Alex Fisher finished 13th overall and the second-fastest sophomore in the 2 mile in 9:03.17. He also was the fastest sophomore in the mile, at 4:16.41
In 2018 season Purdy led his team to winning two events at the Penn relays. He has coached five New England champions in the boys' hurdles. As well as coached Loomis Chaffee boys' hurdlers to seven league championship titles, never finishing lower then second place.
Purdy has a Master Degree in English from Middlebury College. He is the former captain of Williams College indoor and outdoor track and field teams (Division III All-New England honors in hurdles).
