In Coach Johnson's first two seasons (2023 & 2024) she has mentored numerous All-Conference athletes such as Davonte Jackson and Ivorie Smith, who earned All-Conference at the 2024 PBC Outdoor Championships in the hurdles' races. She also mentored Sasha Knowles (2023) and Joy McLeod (2024) who finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the Heptathlon at the PBC Outdoor Championships. Under her direction, Freddie Hawkins and Kahmani Zachery also earned All-Conference honors in the High Jump in both the Indoor & Outdoor PBC Championships. Her jumping crew is one of the top-performing groups of the Peach Belt Conference and in the Southeast Region. In fact, under her leadership, Hawkins Earned the USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region accolade in the 2022-23 season.
Shaka Johnson was an all-around stellar athlete – competing in several sports such as gymnastics, basketball, and track and field to name a few. She won the Level 4 Gymnastics State Championships, went to the Final Four in Basketball, as well as received numerous accolades in track and field. Johnson began coaching at a very young age and is currently inspired by coaches across all sports disciplines. Johnson states, “Coaching is my purpose and there’s nothing else I’d rather do!” Johnson received a track and field scholarship to The University Georgia in the early 2000’s. After 18 years (2025), Johnson is still listed on The University of Georgia’s Women’s Indoor Top 10 List in the 55m hurdles and 60m hurdles. During her coaching career, she has led several athletes to the Junior Olympics, assisted with sports scholarships, and even helped NFL athletes improve their 40 - yard times. Johnson has coached athletes of all calibers including professional, collegiate, and grade school.

Johnson has received numerous certifications in order to catapult her coaching career to the next level. She currently holds six certifications:
