Sumayyah Muhammad

Coach Sumayyah Muhammad is the Varsity Head Coach at University of Chicago Laboratory School and has been a Nike Basketball Camps coach since 2016. She has coached at every level of the NCAA, including one year at Eastern Arizona College where she helped lead the team to the programs first appearance in the Sweet 16 of the NJCAA National Tournament.

Sumayyah started her coaching career the fall of 2013 after graduating from college. She became a trainer at 43 Hoops Basketball Academy in Hopkins,MN, and was also the head tenth grade girls coach at Eden Prairie High School.

She grew up on the south side of Chicago and graduated from Julian High School in 2008. She earned a basketball scholarships to play junior college ball then moved on to play at the Division II level. She graduated from Newman University in 2013 with a degree in Sports Communication. While at Newman her team made history by becoming the first team in program history to make it to the DII NCAA tournament after winning the conference.
