Camp Director

TJ Large is a former professional baseball player turned coach with extensive experience across all aspects of the game. In his playing career, Large was a formidable right-handed pitcher who made significant impacts both on and off the field. As a young player, Large represented Team USA, showcasing his talent on an international stage. In addition, his high school accolades include being a pivotal player on a team that won both State and National Championships.
Following high school, Large played collegiately at Chipola College, St. Pete College, and ultimately, the University of Alabama. In addition, he was drafted 3 separate times during this period - being selected by the San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Boston Red Sox, illustrating his recognized potential in professional baseball.
Large held a professional playing career with the Boston Red Sox. Post-playing, Large quickly transitioned to coaching, where he returned to St. Pete College as the pitching coach. His coaching journey also included a stint with Team USA's PDP program and a championship season with the High-A Bradenton Marauders of the Pittsburgh Pirates organization enhancing his experience in player development. Beyond coaching, Large also dedicated seven seasons to baseball operations with the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he focused on the growth and development of the organization's pitching programs, underlining his commitment to the sport's future.
Large continues to possess a strong passion for the game and a commitment to helping players achieve their personal and professional goals.
Large has been coaching softball for the past 3 seasons at the little league level. This past season his team went undefeated while outscoring opponents 102-18.
He is excited to bring this energy, excitement and expertise to help develop players.
