Todd Tucker - Camp Director

With over 25 years of coaching experience Tucker comes to Earlham with a wealth of experience from all levels of the NCAA. Prior to moving to Richmond, Tucker spent a year at the helm of McKendree University’s NCAA D2 men's and women's programs in Illinois. Before leading McKendree, Tucker was the head men's and women's tennis coach at Salem University NCAA D2 in West Virginia.

At Salem, Tucker engineered a turnaround in both programs. The women's team improved by 17 wins and earned a birth into the NCAA D2 championships, while the men's team improved by nine wins.

Prior to Salem, Tucker served as the assistant men's tennis coach at NCAA Division III Capital University before-which he joined the staff at NCAA DI Wright State University in 2013-14 before being elevated to the interim head coach for both programs in the 2014-15 season. Tucker began his collegiate coaching career after working as the Director of Player Development at the Ivan Lendl International Junior Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, S.C. He joined his brother, Ty Tucker (Ohio State Director of Tennis), on the ATP tour as his traveling coach before going on to coach several world ranked players including: Seth Hoffman ATP, Matt Mendez ATP, Kennedy Schaffer WTA, and Alex Sklizovic ATP.

As a tennis player, Tucker was ranked nationally as a junior by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) in the early-to-late 1980s. He captured a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national championship while playing at North Greenville College in 1987-1988. After that, Tucker played professionally on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour from 1988-90.

"Earlham College is a top academic college with unbelievable athletic facilities. The HCAC is a great conference and the school is beautiful, so I am very excited to get the opportunity to work with the student-athletes. The athletic department is second to none and I look forward to learning under the direction of Athletic Director Adam Hutchinson as well as the athletic coaches, faculty, and staff." Said Tucker on his hiring.

Tucker earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio Christian University and went on to receive his MBA in Sports Administration from Salem. Tucker's son, Tag, and Daughter-in-Law, Kylie, both graduated from Ohio University with degrees in education and teach in Columbus, Ohio. He also has a granddaughter named Aleah.
