Tony Vertuccio Rockville

Vertuccio brings 16 years of coaching experience to Brooklyn joining the Bears staff as assistant softball coach in December 2016.

He most recently served as assistant varsity head softball coach of Harborfields High School in Greenlawn, N.Y. helping the Tornadoes to the playoffs for the first time in 14 years this past season. The resident of Sayville, N.Y. also is the head coach for the Long Island Surge 16-and-under travel team.

In the summer of 2015, Vertuccio took a team to Greece and Italy to help promote the sport of softball in Europe.

Vertuccio also has previous stops at Sayville High School, Fiorello LaGuardia High School, Great Neck South High School, St. Dominic High School and Hempstead High School. He helped Sayville to the Long Island Championship in 2003 and led LaGuardia to the playoffs for the first time in eight years in 2006.

In addition to coaching softball, Vertuccio also is the boys' varsity bowling head coach at Rocky Point High School.

He received a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education from C.W. Post (now LIU Post) in 2002 and a Masters in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Stony Brook University in 2007.
